Beautiful countryside villa in a stunning setting with breathtaking gardens & pool.

  5 out of 5

Our family stayed for one week at this beautiful countryside villa & it surpassed all our expectations. We were greeted on arrival, given a tour of the property to ensure we would know where everything was kept & invited to use the vegetable patch & fruit from the orchard at any time. The setting of the property was simply stunning, a picture postcard with lavender greeting us along the driveway, a lovely garden & a pool that you just never wanted to leave. The BBQ was set in the garden overlooking the vines of the winery & to watch a sunset or eat a meal outside in this location was simply breathtaking.

The villa was recently converted and was therefore modern & new in all respects. All rooms had air conditioning, perfect to escape the summer heat. The bedrooms were large, had comfortable beds & linen & very nice new & modern bathrooms. Traveling as a family with children, the washing machine was also a huge plus & the property also had wifi so you could stay connected to life at home should you want to.

The location of this villa is one of the huge highlights, to go sightseeing & explore nearby cities/towns, we found most places to be no more than an hour away, (Assisi, Siena, Appiano, Florence-1.5hr)The closest village is only a few minutes away for staples of groceries, but 20mins away is a larger town with a full grocery store- co-op, Lidl, delicatessen etc. Cortona is also only 20minutes away for sightseeing. We would return to this villa in a heartbeat, it was simply perfect in every way & felt it was a privilege to stay.

A slice of paradise

  5 out of 5

Let me start by saying that this was our 28th trip to Italy so we are very familiar with the usual "spartan" rentals. This Villa surpassed all expectations - totally private, well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, glasses, etc and furnished well.

Sitting high on a hill overlooking the vineyards and Cortona in the background - it just doesn't get any better! I woud highly recommend this property to anyone considering it - it is impeccably done and a true gem!

Clean, comfortable rural property with good views

This is a good three bedroom rental with a large pool. Rural but not isolated with good indoor and outdoor space. We found the location good for visiting the lovely towns and villages of umbria.

Excellent

We spent a superb week at Il Granio on the Cantina Goccia Estate in the beautiful

Umbrian countryside just outside the village of Petrognano.

Il Granio is a lovely property, nestling in the grounds of Villa Melocotogno sympathetically re- constructed to a very high standard with the advantages of modern living whilst at the same time maintaining the original position of the grain store, benefitting from welcome breezes in the heat of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, which was a huge plus given the soaring summer temperatures. Early morning walks in the woods are a must and an amble back through the orchard set us all up for breakfast. The village of Petrognano is no more than a five minute drive away, further afield we enjoyed trips to Sienna and Multipulciano, as well as regular shopping trips to Castiglione Del Lago, don't miss Gelateria Be Bop, they have ice cream to die for.

The owners agents, Riccardo and Irene, were always available to help with our questions and made our stay very comfortable.

Overall, a great find and one we hope to return to in the future.

A beautiful house and pool with stunning views

  5 out of 5

Following the accurate directions we arrived on a very hot afternoon to be greeted by Irene, who pointed the direction of the pool to the boys and showed us around. The house is beautifully appointed, with all you would need in the kitchen and a lovely welcome pack, including a bottle of wine produced on the farm. The beds were all very comfortable. The pool, gardens and views are wonderful. Irene and Riccardo were on hand should we need them and Hashim looked after to pool and gardens and even left us fresh vegetables as he picked them!

We visited a few of the recommended restaurants and, of course, the local gelateria! The local wine of Poggia Bertaio was superb.

All in all it was a wonderful holiday and we were sad to leave! Thank you Ceri.
